Plumber Swansea Heads
Plumber Swansea Heads work is handled by Swansea Plumbing Co, the plumbing and gas team for Swansea and the peninsula around it. Hot water, drains, gas and after-hours calls all run on the same terms out here: you approve a fixed price up front, and every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work.
A headland that is hard on plumbing. Census figures record 609 people living in 214 dwellings at Swansea Heads, and better than nine in ten of those homes are detached houses. Its beach houses were built between the 1940s and the 1980s in fibro, weatherboard and brick veneer, and the older ones still carry steel water services.
Salt, sand and wet ground. Three conditions shape plumbing on this ground:
- Marine air eats tapware, valves, braided hoses and tank casings well ahead of their inland lifespans, so hot water units out here get swapped on shorter cycles
- Sand washing into the lines is the drainage problem this locality is known for, silting both sewer and stormwater runs
- On the streets nearest the channel, the water table sits close enough to the surface that a trench on the sand flats refills with seawater almost as fast as it can be pumped out
The abandoned mine workings below add one more wrinkle. Subsidence movement under the locality has shifted and cracked buried services before, so a line that went in straight may not be straight today.
Four hubs cover the run. Each kind of fault on the headland has a page of its own:
- Blocked drains: sand-silted sewers, stormwater lines swamped by easterly gales, and camera checks that reveal whether subsidence has shifted the pipe
- Hot water: tanks worn out early by salt air, heat pump and solar options, and the repair-or-replace call
- Gas fitting: appliance installation and gas leak work on lines sitting in wet, corrosive ground
- Emergency plumbing: burst flexi hoses, salt-eaten pipes letting go in vacant holiday houses, and storm surcharge on the low streets

What Locals Ask Before Booking
Do the old galvanised pipes on the headland need replacing?
In time, yes. Steel services in the older cottages here are as badly corroded as any you will find around the lake, and once the pipe wall is eaten through the leaks multiply. We film the line and quote the swap first, so you know the full price before we start work.
Can you attend a burst hose at a Swansea Heads holiday house while we are away?
Yes. A corroded braided connector can split whether or not anyone is home, and an empty house gives the water hours to spread. A neighbour or agent can let us in, we stop the water, fix the fault and send photos, and the job carries our 365-day warranty on all work.
Getting a Plumber Out to the Heads
A single road links the headland back over the channel to Swansea town, and we work it as part of the same run that takes in Caves Beach, Pinny Beach and Murrays Beach. It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours).
